RRP: £19.99 – 30ml
As someone who still suffers from the perils of teenage skin at the age of 27, I thought I’d give this a go. The Elemis Freshskin range is recommended for teens to those in their 20’s, (so I can just about get away with it…). The focus of the range is on simple, effective skincare with natural ingredients. The Super Boost serum boasts that it “Boosts radiance and reveals natural, glowing skin”. Products aimed at younger skins who already have a head start in the ‘youthful glow’ area so I wasn’t expecting to see much improvement but I was nevertheless, pleasantly surprised.
The product comes in a 30ml pump dispenser and is priced around £20. The serum itself is a creamy gel like formula with a sweet fruity scent. You can use the product with your existing moisturiser or on its own. Elemis do complimentary moisturisers such as Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser, (£21.00/50ml), but I used alongside my Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+, (£17.50/50ml).
Although the product doesn’t advertise itself as an aging product, the product contains Hyaluronic Acid which is a well known ingredient on most anti aging products. Hyaluronic acid retains 1000 times it’s weight in water within skin cells resulting in smoother and softer skin. It also has the ability to remove waste material from the cell. However, as it is naturally broken down within the body, your skins supply needs to be topped up regularly.
After a few days use I noticed much more hydrated skin, especially around the eye area. My dark circles were definitely reduced and my overall complexion was much, might brighter. Due to the ultra lightweight formula, I didn’t experience any breakouts and after the 3rd day I found I didn’t need to use with my regular moisturiser.
My only gripe is that the serum, (which pretty much became my full time moisturiser), is only available in a 30ml size. I will definitely be purchasing the larger size moisturiser in the hope it will be every bit as good as the serum.
