So we all know how to shave, but do we all know how to shave and make it last?
Very few of the men in the world like to have a hairy princess, so it’s now time to review the way we shave.
Shaving became popular during WW2, this was because the stock of nylon stockings were in short supply and then this made the new trend to have bare legs and this trend has yet to cease.
As we know, in today’s age, women are turning to waxing and even laser hair removal. But considering all this, shaving still remains the easiest and least expensive of them all.
Here at Truebelle, we have gathered some information for you to ensure that your shave is long lasting.

A Salt Scrub.

Using a salt scrub at least a day before you plan on shaving will lift the dead skin cells on the skin, that may have hairs trapped underneath. To scrub your legs it is best to start down at your ankles and work your way up in circular motions. If you have particularly sensitive skin and prone to flare ups then using exfoliating mitts will also get the job done.

Bathe Before You Shave.

When you shower or bathe, whichever you desire, it will remove any oils that have been produce, perspiration and also it will hydrate the hair you want to shave. This helps the hair cut easier. The optimum soak time is around 2-3 minutes. If you leave shaving till the end of your bath or shower, that will cause your skin to swell and wrinkle, result being in a shave that isn’t as close as you would like it be.

Moisture Rich Shaving Gel.

When you use a rich in moisture gel to shave with, these help to lock in the water within the hair making it easier for the razor to glide over the skin. Doing this will give you a few days off from shaving. Try not to rely on soaps to do the job as they can clog up your razors and also cause dryness to the skin.

Picking The Right Razor.

Choosing the right razor that’s equipped for the job you want doing. My personal favourite is the Venus. Venus offers something that every girl would need. The 5 blade technology also gently exfoliates plus the Moisture Boost shaving gel bars help to soften the skin and lock in the moisture to hydrate it.

Shaving With A Fresh Blade.

Shaving with a fresh blade will provide you with a much closer, more comfortable and much smoother shave. It will also save you from preventing any cuts and irritation. You should be looking to replacing your blades with the first signs of dullness or any discomfort. You are the best judge to when to replace your blades, as hair growth can be different depending on the person. On average though women will change their blades after around 10 shaves.

Light Torches For Sensitive Areas.

Using a light torch, and using as little pressure as possible, then shave in the direction that feels most comfortable to you. Lather up again then shave the bikini area and other sensitive areas you may have.

Hard To Reach Spots.

Leave these spots till last. Places like the knees and thighs, around the ankles or where the bone is closer to the skin’s surface, these places are often more difficult to shave.

The Venus Razor mentioned before, theses come in an oval shape for maximum movement around these hard spots.

Rinsing.

After shaving, rinse thoroughly then pat the skin dry. Don’t rub the skin dry nor should you dry off completely. Leaving the excess water on the skin will help seal in the moisturiser when you apply. This help to eliminate any dry skin you may occur or any flakiness. It will also help you to achieve a healthy glow to the legs.

Natural Oils.

After you have freshly shaved your legs, try not to use synthetic fragrances or perfumed products. Simple use coconut oils or even macadamia. You can purchase these oils from healthy food shops or even chemists. These oil will deeply moisturise and nourish the skin. Apply every evening before you head off to bed.
