Oily Skin Types:

Try looking for lotions instead of creams. Find lotions that include exfoliating qualities with ingredients such as Salicylic Acids and Lactic Glycolic.

Dry Skin Types:

Use creams, especially when it’s winter time with harsh winds. Creams tend to have more oil in them making them a thicker substance and therefore more moisturising. These are more moisturising as they have a greater oil content in them breaking through the skin barriers, hydrating the tissues below.

Combination Skin Types:

Combination skin types are usually harder to find for, but if you are this skin type then the best formulas to go for are lotion that have no acids in them, something bland like Aveeno or Neutrogena.

Normal Skin Types:

For normal skin, the best thing to do to protect your skin from the forces of nature, is to apply a thin layer of ointment on before bed.
Not to forget that your surroundings and it’s climates impact your skin too.

Whether you are experiencing cold, dry, windy or the hot weather, you should take that into consideration when buying your moisturiser too. Seasonal moisturiser. Those of you that live in a chilly, cold country, try using an ointment. A moisturiser will get easily absorbed but using ointment when leave a little layer on the skin to protect it.
If you are experiencing more a humid climate, then swap your moisturiser with a gel. A gel is more hydrating and won’t make you look too oily if you start breaking out in a sweat.

And not forgetting those of you that are in dry places, then opt for a cream. Also using soaps that contain a gentle exfoliant will be helpful.
Finally, the question we all ask, is it better to moisturise whilst your face is still wet?

The best time to moisturise your face is after you have used your toner. This way your face is already primed and is ready to receive the moisturiser for those maximum benefits.
So there it is guys, the basic information on what moisturisers to use that best suit your skin care needs and your skin types.
