Brushes can make all the difference when it comes to getting professional looking makeup.

Take your time buying brushes and mix and match with different brands. Figure out which ones are best for you and then you can skip the brushes that you don’t need. Below are the various kinds of brush you can find on the market and what they are used for specifically.

Fan Brush

This will lightly dust on your highlighter or bronzer. Can also be used to dust off excess product and fall out.

One of the most practical of make up brushes around, as it is great for multitasking. It can be a makeup eraser, used for blush and bronzer, powder foundation and also used to diffuse colours and harsh lines.

Powder Brush

This is to be used for lighter powders in between your blush or bronzer.

It can also be used for any type of powder product.

Kabuki Brush

Best for all over face use.

Great for products like mineral foundation or setting powders. This brush is usually a short brush with round or flat bristles. Use it in circular motions to buff the product into the skin.

Foundation Brush

For a flawless foundation application. Apply your foundation with this brush using circular motions for the best results.

Angled Brush

Angled brush is a great one for contouring as it allows a precise application to hollow in your cheekbones. Typically used to apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. The angled brush has similar firmness to the powder brushes.

Beauty Blender

Used to blend in liquid products and foundations. Can also dampen the sponge for a lighter coverage. It will give your face a smooth, flawless finish.

Concealer Brush

This is wonderful for a precise application of concealer with it’s firm, tapered brush, that will allow you to brush on concealer and blend the product out.

Angled Liner Brush

For an accurate line with gel, eyeshadow or liner, giving you a precise line and will also allow you to choose your desired thickness. Also will work great for an angled eyebrow.

Dome Shadow Brush

Basic eyeshadow brush. Used for the lids or the browbone and to apply any type of eyeshadow.

The bristles on this brush make it perfect for applying eyeshadows.

Blending Shadow Brush

This is used to blend out any harsh lines from your eyeshadow. Perfect for blending out shadow along the crease of your eye lids.

Smudge Brush

Best for concentrating the colour on the smaller areas of your eye which makes it perfect for a smokey eye. It has softer bristles that let you smudge out the concentrated areas.

Angled Shadow Brush

Use to apply and to blend eyeshadow along the crease of your eye. Also use this brush to define your eyes and it can be used along side gel liners.
