When getting ready, whether it be for work, for the weekend or a night out on the town, it can be an ordeal. There are all sorts of preparations to consider, steps to follow and then a multitude of things that have to be perfected to get to the desired state of greatness.

Some of you have engaged in the dedication that is makeup, hair and your own personal sense of style and will have these steps down to the tee. From timing your hair, skincare and makeup routine to the literal minute.
You have probably worked out what days to wash your hair and even the hairstyles you are going to rock with on a greasy hair day. With that, you have developed the art of piecing your beauty outfit together in a blink. Tada!

However, despite how efficient you may be with all your beauty regime’s, sometimes things can go out of the window. Doesn’t matter how well you’ve nailed it, one thing slightly a miss and the panic sets in. Beauty emergencies have a tendency to happen when we don’t have the time for them – one of life’s glorious laughs.
But it just so happens that I know a few helpful little emergency beauty hacks that will help you get through your day a little more smoothly, especially when those stressful style emergencies raise their ugly heads.

1: The Bobby Pin Substitute

In need of a bobby pin badly, but you don’t have one? Don’t get into a state of panic, just use a paper clip. Open up the paper clip and form it into a ‘V’ shape and then continue to use it as you would a hairpin.

2: So You Forgot To Put on Deodorant

Let’s face it, it’s happened to the best of us. In a rush and straight out the door without putting any on. Your best option for an emergency hack is to use a damp towelette to give your underarms a little wipe down, then apply some trusty hand sanitiser to the area.

3: The Dreaded Shiny Face

Having a shiny T zone isn’t uncommon, although most of us don’t have blotting strips to hand. A simple solution to this is, using a little bit of hand sanitiser and dabbing it onto the area’s that you have shine.

4: Bad Breathe Fixer

Feel like you are walking around with bad breath but don’t have mints on you? It’s fine, just grab an apple. A delicious apple contains Pectin, which is a natural odor killer.

5: Dry Shampoo Replacement

So you have forgotten your dry shampoo, no biggie. The translucent powder that kicks around your makeup bag will work just as well.  Give your strands a good brush in order to blend the product through your roots.

6: Blast Those Dark Circles

Grab two metal teaspoons and pop them into the freezer for a couple of minutes until they feel frosty and cold. Once they are, place them onto your bottom eyelids, with the curved side down and leave them there for a few minutes. The chilled metallic spoon will shrink the vessels and also shrink those bags.

7:  Lost Lip Balm

The superfood that is olive oil is a natural moisturiser, plus it is also packed full with antioxidants. What’s better is that you’ve more than likely already got some in your cupboard!

8: Self Tanning Streak Remover

So you have self tanned, and have those pesky lines. Don’t panic just yet, go for a swim. The Chlorine in pools help strip the extra colour.

9: Fix A Chipped Nail

Of course you didn’t pop a nail file into your handbag today of all days. If you can grab hold of a match box, using the back of it and gently file down the broken nail you have.

10: Blemish Blaster

So you’ve woken up to a zit on your face. Saturate a cotton ball with eyedrops. Hold onto the zit for a few minutes, this will constrict the blood vessels reducing any redness.
