Coconut Oil has exploded recently as one of the more unique products on the market.

People only tend to use coconut oil as a tool for cooking, but it has amazing qualities for various beauty purposes that go unnoticed.

Here, for you, are some of the best ways to use coconut oil as part of your beauty and skin care routines.

Making Exfoliants

A cheap and easy way of exfoliating your skin with things that you probably have around your house. Create your own exfoliant by mixing together 2 tsp of sugar with 3 tsp coconut oil, pop into a container and you can use as and when you wish. You won’t be disappointed.

Removing Eye Makeup

All you will need is coconut oil and some cotton balls/pads, then you’re good to go. This works as a great tool for removing eye makeup, it also works wonders on waterproof makeup as well.

Moisturiser

You can use coconut oil as a full body moisturiser. It has now become a great substitute for moisturising lotions. Apply it during the day as part of your moisturising routine and you will feel and see the difference. It will leave you with soft, smooth and glowing skin.

Sunburn

If you are dealing with sunburn then coconut is great to use to prevent or heal sunburn. It will relieve the soreness of having scorched skin and will gently moisturise your skin at the same time.

Diseases

Lauric Acid, helps your hair and your heart. Coconut oil contains 50% lauric acid, this can help prevent high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Whilst there are many factors of decreasing heart risks, coconut oil has displayed many benefits to helping with its prevention.

Hair Care

Dry hair can be caused by many factors such as cold harsh weather. Coconut oil will help with damaged, dry hair and also hair loss. It is great for hair proteins and will soften out those dry hairs. Apply root to tip and allow it to absorb for at least 30-40 minutes, or keep it on overnight, and wash out as normal. You will notice you hair becoming more healthy and shiny.

Sexy Legs

Shaving creams use a cocktail of chemicals that you don’t really need to get nice clean shaved legs. Coconut oil isn’t overly expensive and has great skin soothing qualities which will leave your legs looking lovely and hydrated after you have shaved them. Also will work on the underarms too.

Night Cream

Applying coconut oil to your face before you go to bed will maximise its skin benefits. The antioxidants that are in the oil are outstanding for smoothing wrinkles and fine lines as you sleep.

Stretch Marks

Keeping a jar of coconut oil nearby will help keep those stretch marks at bay, for those expectant mum to be. Anyone can use this to help with scars, you may have some stubborn ones that need extra attention, this oil can help.

Fuller Lashes

Use a dab of coconut oil on a Q tip and apply onto your lashes, not too much as it may cause irritation. It will make them appear longer and fuller. Over time it will actually lengthen your lashes.

Keeping a jar of virgin coconut oil in your cabinet will be your new best friend and will save you pennies!
