My initial reaction to this eyeliner was that of joy, I really wanted a purple eyeliner so I thought I’d hit the jackpot. The packaging is really rather nice, I like that it is shiny and inviting, but also that it gave a small hint towards the colour at the base of the pencil (with a darker purple). The second I took the lid off is when things got a little weird for me.

I am not the most makeup oriented person on the planet, but I’ve seen my fair share of it. Never in my life have I seen a pencil where the core is hovering in the middle (away from the sides). Apparently this is a new development in the makeup world, but I struggled to figure out exactly why. This was made even more bizarre after using a sharpener, where it appeared (as you can see above) to turn back into your average eyeliner pencil.

After getting my head round this I decided to give it a try, I was excited all the way up until the pencil hit my eye. Imagine trying to use a wax crayon on your eye; you’d think it to be fairly painful and rather ineffective, right? This is exactly how the pencil felt. It was as solid as a rock, more sold than The Rock. I even rubbed it between my hands for a while in the hopes of melting it down but alas it was never meant to be. It’s a crying shame as I imagine it looking lovely if it had of worked. But as you can see above, it was a grand waste of time.

Summary

Was as hard as a rock and very difficult to apply, but the colour would have been fabulous (which is a huge shame).
