So the biggest night of the year is fat approaching and we all want to look our best. So here is a complete How – To guide on 5 star stopping looks. Let’s embrace those red lips or be bold with a new hue.

Taylor Swift’s makeup artist Lorrie Turk creates this simple New Year’s Eve look by applying many coats of mascara and a hint of an icy eye shadow and matching this with classic red lip. This prevents you from looking overdone.

Get The Look:

Eyes: Apply three coats of mascara to plump up your lashes without any clumping. We especially love the YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara Black

Lips: Apply a great red lip such as the Benefit Cha Cha Balm Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm , this will not only hydrate your lips but will coat them in a crimson colour.

For a finishing touch, make sure you have created a smooth canvas to work on as the red lip with encentuate and inflammation that you may have like any blemishes or veins.

Dark neutrals like Kerry Washington is wearing is great if your are wearing a metallic toned dress on your big night out, why not highlight the features on your face to match the mood of your dress? Opt for a warm and bronze feel by choosing a bronzer that is actually one shade darker, this will add dimensions to the face and also help contour.

Get The Look:

Eye: For the eye, blend the gold like shadow colour from the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette, Naked across the entire eyelid and then with the same colour, smudge it into the lower lash line. For a more dramatic effect add some false lashes with a few coats of mascara and the finish the eye by applying a black eye pencil around the entire rim of the eye.

Lips: For the lips, try not to distract from the smokey eye that you just created so just add a nude lips and a little dab of gloss and that’s it.

Finishing Touch: As the eyes are the focus for this look, concealer under the eyes is key.

Peachy Glow and Luscious Lashes are great way to make a statement without piling on lots of makeup. Pastels are an unexpected choice when it comes to the winter months but when makeup artist Melanie Inglessis created Olivia Wilde’s look, she went for a glowing skin paired with amazing set of lashes.

Get The Look:

Eyes: With the MAC 32 Lash

Cut them into 3-4 pieces as this is the easiest way to apply false lashes and they’re also more flexible to wear.

Cheeks: MAC Mineralize Blush, Cosmic Force is one of our favourite products. Smooth it along the cheekbone to create the perfect peachy glow.

For the finishing touch, add a neutral lip like Nars Lipgloss Sweet Dreams.

When it comes round to New Year’s Eve, we all think about the red lips with the Little Black Dress. But Hugh Vanngo the Makeup artist decided to give an element of surprise when he gave Camille Belle a vibrant and very striking pink lip.

Get The Look:

Eyes: Use a navy liner and then press a navy eyeshadow onto the lower lash line. Use black mascara on the top lashes and this will keep the eyes looking striking but not to overdone.

Lips: Tom Ford Lip Colour Lips & Boys Collection, Justin is a great and striking pink shade for the lips.

For finishing touches, use the Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter, in Sin along the cheekbones, nose and forehead. This will give some light to the severe colours used.

All eyebrows, eyes and perfect looking skin with minimal colour. To create Carey Mulligan’s lightweight complexion, use a light foundation and a translucent powder to dust.

To Get This Look:

Eyes: Blend 2 cream eyeshadow colours along the entire lid with a few coats of your favourite mascara to finish the eyes.

Finishing Touch: Use a little rose coloured blush such as the Bobbi Brown Blush, Sand Pink and this will keep the look from looking a little cold.
