This could happen to anyone of us! Simple knocking your handbag or even if you accidentally drop your favourite MAC Compact.
Eyeshadows, blushers and bronzers are not exempt from this either, the dreaded smash!
Luckily we are here to help you with this disaster and have come up with a little step by step for you to be able to fix that favourite powder of yours using alcohol (ironically, this is usually the cause of broken makeup.
Tools that we help you through this process:
70% Alcohol (this works tons better than your typical rubbing alcohol that you can pick up from your local store and you can purchase it at your local art supply shop), plastic wrap, synthetic brush, spatula, dropper and if you’re a perfectionist a Q-tip.
Step 1: Plastic Wrap:
Cover your compact completely with the wrap and makes sure it is tight, this way it will contain everything.
Step 2: Mash:
Using your spatula, crush up the rest of the powder, making sure it’s’ not just broken. You are turning this back into loose powder.
Step 3: Alcohol:
Remove your plastic wrapping and then add at least 10 drops of alcohol. You can add a few drops at a time to see how much you will need.
Step 4: Smooth:
Now that your powder has become almost sponge like and very pliable, this is perfect for you to even it out so it is smooth, using your spatula.
Step 5: Perfecting:
Using your given brush, smooth over the surface further. Leave the powder for a few hours to let it set and dry completely and then it is like it never happened to begin with.
To make it look all pretty in it’s compact, clean up the edges with your Q-tip.
